COVID-19 UPDATE

Harvest Update and Health Precautions – September 2020

Dear MaxYield Cooperative Clients,

As we’ve seen throughout the spring and summer, agriculture remains an essential business. While many sectors and industries have shut down or reduced production during this time, farming and the business activities associated with agriculture have maintained operations and will continue to do so.

Though harvest 2020 is beginning, COVID-19 is still present in our communities. We must continue to make choices that help protect our team members, neighborhoods and you, our clients. All counties in the MaxYield trade area are experiencing a steady or increased number of positive cases. In response we are continuing with adjustments to our office procedures:

  • Team members, clients, and others should refrain from entering location offices, other than to conduct essential business (paperwork, grain samples, etc.). Meetings will be held via web conference or phone when possible.
  • If entering a location for essential business or meeting elsewhere, please maintain six feet of distance between yourself and others. This includes any on-farm visits by MaxYield team members.
  • We encourage the use of masks by team members and clients, especially when social distancing is not possible.

Though we are conducting business a little differently, we’re still working hard to provide solutions to you and your farming operation. Our grain, agronomy, feed, energy, and on-farm trucking teams are ready to work with you this fall.

We encourage clients who prefer to contact our team via phone, email or text to do so when possible and appropriate this season. You can find contact information for all MaxYield locations on our website. Connection Central is another great tool for you to view grain contracts, sales tickets, statements and more online and in real time.

I thank you for your flexibility and perseverance through the past several months. I wish you a safe and healthy harvest, and we all look forward to the day when we can put the coffee on, pop the popcorn, and welcome you into our locations with open arms once again.

Cooperatively,

Keith Heim
CEO

A letter from MaxYield CEO Keith Heim

Dear Valued Member and Clients,

By now you have received numerous communications regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and how MaxYield Cooperative is responding. First, I want to thank you for your support and for being patient as we navigate our way through these times.

Our values and non-negotiables guide the decisions we make and our top priority has been our employees and clients health and safety while ensuring we can continue to do business. Spring planting, a season that is vital to our clients and cooperative, depends on us being there for the solutions you need. We care for the health and well-being of our team and clients, that’s why we are following this situation closely and have implemented certain restrictions at our locations. Please know that we are working hard to minimize any potential service disruptions and are committed to find new ways to work together where necessary.

We remain open for receiving grain and for making feed, seed/agronomy and energy deliveries and product pickup. Our Cenex stores also remain open and food is available for carry-out.  As you know, effective March 19 we are restricting visitors to our offices to only essential business that cannot be done by phone or electronically. For now, we will be mailing all grain checks and not holding them for pick up at our locations. If you are interested in signing up for checks to be direct deposited or paying your bill via ACH, please call your nearest MaxYield location, they are happy to help.

We encourage you to stay connected with MaxYield. Though we will have some team members working remotely for a while, they are all still accessible by phone and email. Current grain bids and MaxYield location contact information is available by visiting MaxYieldGrain.com. We can also email or text MaxYield grain bids. Be sure to contact your MaxYield location to learn more or to sign up.

We have built MaxYield based upon bringing you solutions and emphasizing relationships. Thank you for hanging in there with us as we made many client service adjustments this week. Most of all, thank you for your business and trust in us! We can’t wait to turn the coffee on and start the popcorn machine when we are past this.

Please do not hesitate to call or email us with any questions you have. We will continue to monitor the situation and remain committed to keeping you informed of any updates.

Wishing all of you a safe and productive spring!

Keith Heim

MaxYield COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update – March 18, 2020

Valued MaxYield Members and Clients;

The outbreak of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the steps necessary to limit its spread has caused further adjustments on how to serve our clients. In addition to our update on March 16th, I want to provide further updates and clarification on the actions we’re taking to ensure the health and safety of our team members and clients.

Further steps MaxYield Cooperative is taking through at least April 4, 2020 to help protect our team members and clients include…

  • Effective at the start of business Thursday, March 19, 2020, we will restrict visitors to our offices to only essential business that cannot be done by phone or electronically. We ask that you make appointments whenever possible.
  • Visits by our vendors and suppliers to our offices is not permitted until further notice. Every effort should be made to conduct business by phone or electronically.
  • When possible, we may have several team members working from home. We may have a limited number of team members at some offices, including the corporate office.
  • Pursuant to Iowa Governor Reynolds’ recent proclamation, convenience store patrons are required to immediately leave the store after making their food and beverage purchases. The dining areas at our Cenex stores are CLOSED until such restrictions are removed by the State of Iowa.
  • We continue to receive grain, deliver your products and operate our Cenex stores. We ask your help in limiting interactions and conducting proper social distancing with our team whenever possible.

This is a rapidly changing situation. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 through the CDC at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov and the State of Iowa. If there are any changes to this policy we will communicate as such.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support of MaxYield. We implemented these measures to enhance our likelihood of entering spring season healthy. Hopefully in 2-3 weeks we are in the field, very busy and the impacts of this situation have diminished.

Do not hesitate to call your MaxYield location with questions or concerns.

Respectfully,

Keith Heim, CEO

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

March 16, 2020

Valued MaxYield Members and Clients;

As you are aware, an outbreak of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has developed and is causing nation-wide concern. I want to provide an update on the actions we’re taking to ensure the health and safety of our team members and clients.

Today we communicated with our team members about our expectations regarding employee health and safety related to COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, these are some of the steps MaxYield Cooperative is taking through at least April 4, 2020 to help protect our team members and clients.

  • If employees are ill, they are strongly encouraged to stay home until fully recovered.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces in our offices.
  • Regularly wash hands, use hand sanitizers and properly cover sneezes and coughs.
  • Enacting a “no-handshake” policy. We know that our members and clients will understand this importance.
  • No business travel for all MaxYield employees and all MaxYield business meetings are restricted. We are asking employees to self-quarantine for 14 days after personal international trips or trips to high-risk domestic areas.

For you, our members and clients, we are committed to being your solutions provider during this time.

  • All cooperative operations, including grain receiving and delivery of products will continue. Our locations are open and ready to help.
  • When possible, we’d like to do business by phone or online. We strongly value our personal relationships and walk-in clients, however if we can do business over the phone or online during this time, it will ease the risk to you and our team. Be sure to ask about resources we offer online and electronically.
  • If you have an in-person meeting scheduled with a member of our team, we are happy to set up a phone conference.

This is a rapidly changing situation. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 through the CDC at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov. If there are any changes to this policy we will communicate as such. Thank you for your understanding and support of MaxYield. Do not hesitate to contact your MaxYield location with questions or concerns.

Respectfully,

Keith Heim, CEO
